Keeping All Your Options On The Table
Chaotic Neutral is the best alignment for a DM. Yes, I know that DM’s are real people, and real people don’t have alignments. If we did, it would be a problem, because we have no character sheets to write that down on.
Being Chaotic Neutral means you keep your options open, and prepare to play things on the fly, and that’s a mark of a good Dungeon Master. After all, the DM plays as a world full of people: being mercurial is just a necessity.
